Irene Was Overblown?

 
Between the mandatory evacuations, the closing of the NYC subway system, and the millions of dollars poured into storm preparedness, we overreacted to this event?

  donna   I''m in agreement that better safe than sorry. We dont know weather well enough to get it right every time so we need to be overly cautious.

  dadvocate   No way to know what a storm this size would do. There were deaths and property damage but how do we know there wouldnt have been more if the media didnt amplify the message?
