We don't know true tolerance

 
The word "tolerance" has been reconstructed. Classically, it meant this: You think someone is really wrong about such and such and, it is about something that is really important. True tolerance happens when you say, "I"I will "tolerate" you anyway because I respect you as a person. More recently, tolerance has come to mean "everyone should be tolerant because there is no real right and wrong and all views are equally valid.

  october   I absolutely agree. Tolerance isnt well understood by people because the belief seems to be outwardly appearing as though you accept differenes while inwardly scoffing at what somebody thinks, feels,

  dadvocate   I'm not sure I agree with what the 'new definition' is. Tolerance seems to have less to do with perspective (right versus wrong) and more to do with acceptance of differences between the nature of people.
