Should the FBI be allowed to scrape Facebook data

 
The FBI is considering continuously monitoring all social media sites on a global basis, and is looking for help. It's asking contractors for proposals for a system that could scan the networks, globally and in real time, to identify potential threats. The deadline for responses is 10 February 2012.

  bethnewyork   I think that we are being watched constantly anyway, if I am not doing anything wrong, I don't care. Have you ever been on gmail having a chat with someone or emailing them and the pop-up ads on the sidebar

  pundit   If the FBI or Dept of Homeland security is allowed to scrape data, they will use that informaiton under the heading of National Security and nobody will be monitoring them to go beyond the scope of intention.

  dadvocate   Absolutely not. Its always under the guise of protecting us but the reality is we will never been 100% safe and I dont want Big Brother using the intelligence they gather in ways that restrict my
