Merit Based Pay For Teachers

 
Would standardizing the way teachers are paid with incentives based on their performance, help to reward those educators who are good at what they do and week out those who arent as competent.

  october   This is how many teachers feel, they just don't say it. Because of this, they need motivation to continue enduring increasingly difficult working conditions.

StBalders   I disagree only because I worry about the methods used to quantify how their performance would affect the job. We have done this in the UK with league tables based on exam results. What happened were

  ShelleyG   This is a terrible idea because it will help veteran teachers to feel threatened and novice teachers to be worried about success. There are many variables that affect whether a teacher is being effective,
