Metal Detectors in Schools: Good Prevention?

 
 
 
The use of metal detectors in schools is a growing debate. One camp supports this physical deterrence method as common sense, while the other camp worries it promotes a weaker school culture, which can give way to more violence. 
 
If you agree this is a good strategy for all types of violence, please strongly agree. If you see it as a useful strategy for some types of violence, please agree somewhat and explain.

  pundit   I would say that certain schools where violence is day to day and the perennial threat of weapons makes learning difficult, would be an exception. If we are talking about the mass shooter, than no I don't

  dadvocate   Terrible idea. Send the wrong message to our students. Schools are becoming more like prisons. what will we do next, bring in bomb sniffing dogs because kids are brings home made explosives instead of

  charlee   Our public schools need to develop adequate "Learning Detectors" when children leave the school facility. That's where the resources need ot go.
